Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)

Polyvinylidene fluoride - it is high temperature high quality plastic with good mechanical, thermal, electro-insulation, and chemical characteristics.

Chemical name - PVDF. It is extremely clean plastic produced without plasticizers and various surface slippage improving or fire inhibiting additives and thus suitable for use in contact with foodstuffs.

PVDF plastic may be produced with various additives or special surface layers providing adhesiveness.

Characteristics:

  • Easy to weld;
  • May be formed by heat treatment;
  • Resistant to steam and does not absorb moisture;
  • Low friction coefficient;
  • Solid, rigid;
  • Resistant to atmospheric conditions;
  • Very good electro-insulation characteristics;
  • Hygienic;
  • Typical durability;
  • Colour: natural (white), black.

Technical data:

  • Density - 1.78 g/cm3;
  • Operating temperature: from -20 oC to +140 oC (depending on additives, temperature below 0 may vary);
  • Reaction to fire class: VO.

Scope of application:

PVDF - it it a universal engineering plastic suitable for use in petroleum, chemistry, metallurgy, medicine, food, textile industries. Most common PVDF is used for industry purposes, where rigidity and relatively high temperature is required as an alternative to PFTE - fluoroplast.

It is most wide used in chemistry industry for production of various parts, tanks for pump housing of tanks, blades, in galvanics for production of clean premises, in the technology of semi-conductors, including for coating of receptacles for aggressive chemicals.
